Chisinau, 13 January /MOLDPRES/ - The volume of electric energy is provided at the necessary level for 12 and 13 January and the activation of failure contracts  and/or unintentional flows is not needed, the government’s Crisis Cell has reported.

The consumption of electric energy on the right bank of Dniester is provided by the local heating stations, renewable energy installations and from import, based on the bilateral contracts or from exchange. For 12 January, the consumption was covered from the following sources:

- Import of electric energy from Romania – 50 per cent;

- Termoelectrica stock company – 33.13 per cent

- Renewable energy – 10.57 per cent

- CET-Nord stock company – 5.06 per cent

- state enterprise Costesti hydro-electric power station – 1.23 per cent

The peak of electric energy consumption was registered during 18:00-20:00, with a maximal consumption of 853 MW.

According to the central provider of electric energy, Energocom stock company, the consumption on the right bank of Dniester is fully covered for 13 January 2025. The forecast of consumption for today shows an 18-per cent increase against the previous day.

In the thermal energy sector, on the right bank, all generation sources are working and there are no risks which can influence the good work of the generation, transport and distribution equipment. Also, in the natural gas sector, the pressures in all segments of the transport system managed by the Vestmoldtransgaz Ltd Company are within the limits of the functional parameters.

On the left bank of Dniester, MGRES (Kuchurgan power station) and the Dubasari-based hydro-electric power station do not produce enough electric energy to cover the region’s consumption. Starting from 10 January, scheduled interruptions have been taking place daily with duration of five hours. Disconnections from power supply are also made in the Copanca and Varnita villages, checked by the constitutional authorities, and the government has already undertaken a string of measures to help the residents hit by the lack of electricity.
