Chisinau, 14 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Energocom Company today informed that it had reserved the commercial capacity of electric energy at the border with Romania, in order to cover the need of consumption for 15 January.

According to Energocom, on the right bank of Dniester, a consumption of electric energy similar to the one from the previous day, 14 January, is forecast for 15 January. The company said the needs of energy would be covered both by the local heating stations and renewable energy installations, as well as from import, based on the bilateral contracts or from exchange.

The authorities reiterated the urge to the citizens to save electricity in the peak hours, in order to have lower invoices and to ensure the reliability of the electric energy system.

Data by the government’s Crisis Cell shows that, for 14 January, the consumption of electric energy for the right bank of Dniester is fully covered and the activation of failure contracts is not necessary.

Starting from 1 January 2025, the right bank of Dniester has no longer been receiving electric energy from the Kuchurgan power station, after the Russian giant Gazprom ceased the deliveries of natural gas to Moldova. In these conditions, the consumption is covered from domestic sources and from import.
