Chisinau, 14 January /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova has denounced 66 agreements signed on the platform of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and another 50 are at different stages of denunciation. The Moldovan diplomacy head, Mihai Popsoi, has made statements to this effect in an interview given with the national radio station.
According to Popsoi, the documents were absolutely inefficient and brought no value added to Moldova’s citizens. ‘’The cooperation agreements in the economic field, of social protection and health will be preserved. As long as there is benefit for Moldova’s citizens, we will make no approach of their denunciation,’’ Mihai Popsoi said.
The Commonwealth of Independent States is a regional organization made up of those 15 former federal republics of the Soviet Union. Exceptions represent those three Baltic countries: Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, as well as three countries which left the organization: Georgia (2009), Ukraine (2018) and Moldova (2023). Turkmenistan has been having status of associate member since 2005.
