Most schools of Moldova to ensure free of charge nourishment of pupils from fifth-ninth forms as of 1 September 2025

Chisinau, 14 January /MOLDPRES/ - Most schools of Moldova as of 1 September 2025 will provide the free of charge nourishment of pupils from the fifth- ninth forms. The programme will be fully financed from the state budget. Education and Research Minister Dan Perciun today made statements to this effect.

The minister said that, till late next February, decision-makers were to establish the format of implementation of this commitment, depending on the size of schools and the capacity of the canteens they have.

The education minister said that the main question to which answer was to be found is how the free of charge nourishment of the children would be provided in the very big education institutions, which have small canteens.

About 1,200 schools work in Moldova, most of which are of the gymnasium level.
