MPs of Chisinau attend PACE fall session

Chisinau, Sep 30 /MOLDPRES/- MPs Ion Groza, Andrian Cheptonar and Constantin Starîș are attending the fall session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on 30 September - 4 October in Strasbourg, France.
According to the parliament's communication and public relations department, the session's agenda includes discussions on propaganda and freedom of information in Europe, migrant smuggling and the situation of refugees and asylum seekers, as well as emergency medical care and the humanitarian situation of women and children in Gaza.
Two requests for urgent debates were also submitted. They concern the deteriorating human rights, rule of law and democracy situation in Azerbaijan and people missing because of the Russian Federation's war in Ukraine.
They will also approach ensuring safe, healthy and sustainable food for all; the implementation of Reykjavik Declaration by the Council of Europe Development Bank; the situation in Iran and the protection of Iranian human rights defenders in Council of Europe member states.
During the session, the Václav Havel Human Rights Prize will be awarded. The winner will be selected from three candidates, outstanding human rights defenders from around the world.
Moldova has been a member of the Council of Europe since 1995.
