Chisinau, Nov 21 /MOLDPRES/- Parliament approved today in the first reading the rectification of the state budget for 2024. The document envisages an increase in revenues, as well as a decrease in expenditures and budget deficit. The draft was passed by 58 MPs.
The draft amendment to the 2024 state budget law was drafted based on the forecast of macroeconomic indicators for this year, which was revised in October by the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, as well as based on the level of execution of the state budget during nine months of this year.
Thus, it is proposed to increase revenues by 1.18 billion lei, which will exceed 67 billion lei. According to the authorities, this is due to the economic revival recorded in the second half of the year. Respectively, the increase is mainly due to the rise in wage incomes, as well as in indirect taxes and duties. At the same time, given that revenues grew faster than expenditure, the budget deficit is proposed to be reduced by 1.67 billion lei.
The draft law also envisages reducing expenditure by 493.4 million lei and redistributing identified savings. Thus, 622 million lei will be distributed to modernize the country's road infrastructure and repair roads. Another 100 million lei are earmarked to support small and medium-sized enterprises, while 60 million lei will be allocated for the implementation of the national program for the expansion and rehabilitation of forests.
The draft amending the 2024 state budget law is to be submitted for consideration in the second reading in the plenum of the Parliament.
