Seven men suspected of preparing mass disorders sentenced to three years of imprisonment in Moldova

Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/- Magistrates of the Chisinau Court have sentenced those seven men, who were detained in March 2023 for the preparation of mass disorders, to three years of imprisonment, due to be served in a semi-closed penitentiary   

According to the police, the men have ages between 21 and 39 years and were born in north Moldova and three of them were prosecuted for robbery and theft.

Among the prosecuted men, there is also the organizer of this crime ring, aged 40 years, born in Balti. This man, along with the other members of the ring, identified more people, especially young men with an athletic body type, among whom also earlier convicted for the committing of illegal deeds. Subsequently, the defendants organized the carriage of these young people to Chisinau, as well as their accommodation.   

The defendants pleaded non-guilty. The sentence is not final and can be appealed under the law.
