Vetting Commission finishes evaluation of candidate for top court, four candidates for positions in judges' colleges

Chisinau, 3 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Vetting Commission has finished the evaluation of one candidate for the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) and four candidates for offices in the specialized Colleges of judges. Magistrates Natalia Bondarenco and Lilia Potinga, who are candidates for the office of member of the Disciplinary College of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) and judge Eugeniu Beselea, candidate for the College for the Selection and Evaluation of Judges of CSM, passed the evaluation.
According to the Commission, a candidate for the position of member in CSM’s Disciplinary College, Ion Buruiana, failed to pass the evaluation. Also, as for the candidate for the office of judge of the Supreme Court of Justice, judge Dorin Munteanu, the Commission approved a report on the non-passage of the evaluation.
The Vetting Commission evaluates the subjects based on specific criteria of financial and ethic integrity. The evaluation of the candidates for positions in CSM’s Colleges is carried out according to the criteria established in the Law 26/2022. At the end of the evaluation process, the Commission adopts a decision on the candidate, thereby ascertaining the passage or non-passage of the evaluation.
The candidates for the office of judge of the Supreme Court of Justice are evaluated by the vetting Commission according to the criteria from the Law 65/2023. The Commission approves reports on evaluation. The reports contain the proposal on the passage or non-passage of the evaluation and are submitted to CSM for consideration. CSM analyses the results of the evaluation and adopts decisions on the acceptance or turning down of Commission’s reports.
