Outcomes of raids in Orhei city of Moldova: 18 civil servants have status of suspect, of whom four detained

Chisinau, 11 October /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 18 people are to be recognized as suspects, of whom four ones have been detailed and are to be placed in isolation ward, following criminal prosecution actions carried out by officers of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA) today.
According to CNA, today, 18 civil servants, among whom the mayor and deputy mayor of the Orhei city, the chief architect, official examiners and more district councilors, were searched by anticorruption officers in a criminal file opened on ‘’passive corruptions and infringements of the way of management of financial means of political parties or of electoral funds.’’
According to the deeds investigated, more people holding public offices, civil servants and district councilors, for the fulfillment of their duties as civil servants of the Orhei city hall, would have systematically accepted and received money they had not right to get from different persons, among whom public people, people holding public offices, as well as from members of an organized crime ring who acted in the interests of a political formation.
At the same time, they would have accepted and received illicit remunerations, in order to support political formations and public people. They would have participated in diverse political actions as organizers and coordinators.
CNA says that it would come up with information on sums of money detected following the searches made.
