French president assures Moldova of France's support to "fulfill European destiny"

Chisinau, Oct 22 /MOLDPRES/- President of France Emmanuel Macron reacted on Monday after the victory of the option to join the European Union in the referendum in the Republic of Moldova, assuring our country of France's "support" in fulfilling "its European destiny" and denouncing "disinformation maneuvers" during the vote, according to Agerpres and AFP.

"The disinformation maneuvers did not shake the determination of Moldovans, whose aspiration to join the European family proved stronger," the French president said.

Acting President "Maia Sandu embodies the desire. Moldova can count on our support to fulfill its European destiny," he added.

Chisinau official on Monday spoke of Moscow targeting a "miserable attack" on her country's sovereignty during the first round of presidential elections and the referendum on amending the Constitution, which took place on Sunday.
