Number of polling stations open in Russia for runoff election to be same

Chisinau, Oct 23 /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi announced today that there were some irregularities at polling stations opened in Russia on October 20, but despite these attempts, not even those 10,000 ballots that were sent in were exhausted, even though two more hours were offered. He said that for the runoff the number of polling stations open in Russia would remain the same.
Chisinau official thanked citizens for participating in the polls.
He noted that in the next period the violations, whether they happened abroad or within the country, will be totaled up and the relevant authorities will act.
"The positive result we achieved was appreciated not only here in the country, but also by all international partners who congratulated the Republic of Moldova and the people of the Republic of Moldova for this good result and the support was reconfirmed from the members of the European Union, the leadership of the European Union and all partners who support the Republic of Moldova on its way to the great European family," the minister said.
On November 3, the runoff election will take place in the Republic of Moldova. Two candidates will fight for the presidency: Maia Sandu put forward by PAS and Alexandr Stoianoglo proposed by PSRM.
