Moldova signed 51 grants worth €5.63 million under Horizon Europe programme

Chisinau, Oct 26 /MOLDPRES/- Moldova has signed 51 grants under Horizon Europe programme. Their total value is 5.63 million euros, provided by the European Union. The data were presented at the third meeting of the Joint Committee for Research and Innovation Republic of Moldova - European Union, held in Chisinau.
Present at the event, Anne Haglund-Morrissey, deputy head of the International Cooperation Unit of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Research and Innovation urged researchers from our country to continue the positive trend of participation and to apply for calls and opportunities offered by the Horizon Europe program. At the same time, the European official emphasized the support that the European Commission continues to provide to the Republic of Moldova to increase participation in the Program.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Research Adriana Cazacu said that the program is not only a platform through which valuable European funds can be accessed, but also a strategic opportunity for the development and consolidation of the European integration path of our country.
This year, the National Smart Specialization Program of the Republic of Moldova for 2024-2027 - Smart Moldova was approved, our country becoming the first Eastern Partnership country to have such an approved document.
The Republic of Moldova is an associated country of the Horizon Europe Program. The program provides opportunities for exchange of European and international best practices, attracting researchers, access to research infrastructure and addressing the challenges facing contemporary society.
