Moldova ranks first at INTEL AI Global Impact Festival 2024

Chisinau, 31 October /MOLDPRES/ - Pupils Nikita Moglan and Daniela Malancea of the Iulia Hasdeu Theoretical Lyceum from Chisinau have created an artificial intelligence platform titled, MediScan, which can provide medical diagnoses instantaneously. With this invention, the pupils ranked first at the global competition, INTEL AI Global Impact Festival 2024, which promotes innovation in the artificial intelligence.
The prize won by Moldova for the first time ever was got by the two pupils following a competition with another 105 teams from all over the world.
The new artificial intelligence platform provide users with useful information on subjects of interest, either they are patients from isolated villages or providers of medical services.
Education and Research Minister Dan Perciun congratulated the young people and wished them success in education and research. ‘’You proved before the entire world that Moldova can shine in the field of technological innovation. Due to the strategic partnership between Tekwill and the Education and Research Ministry (MEC), our young people benefit from support, in order to be able to transform the bold ideas into real success. These results represent clear proof that, through constant investments in education, technology, the young people can change not only their future, but also the country’s future,’’ Dan Perciun said.
Also pupils Oleg Rata and Anastasia Batrincea from the Nicolae Milescu Spataru Theoretical Lyceum (category 13-17 years), guided by teacher Albert Lobanov, participated in the competition. This team won with the project, Road Condition Recognition.
A number of 106 teams from all over the world participated in the competition, INTEL AI Global Impact Festival, this year.
