Branch of Bulgarian university to be opened in Taraclia city of Moldova

Chisinau, 7 November /MOLDPRES/ - A branch of the Angel Kanchev University from Bulgaria will be opened at the headquarters of the Grigore Tambalac State University from Taraclia. The institution created will be financed from the budget of the Angel Kanchev University, according to Bulgaria’s legislation.    

The subject today was discussed at a meeting of the parliamentary commission for culture, education, research, youth, sport and mass media.  

The branch will be opened following the ratification of an agreement between the governments of Moldova and Bulgaria.  

The agreement will contain provisions on the organization of the education and scientific process at the new education institution, the teaching staff involved in this process, the languages of education and the way the transfer of students will be made from the Grigore Tambalac State University to the branch of the Angel Kanchev University.

Following the agreement’s ratification, Moldova’s government, through derogation from the Law on the administration and denationalization of the public property, will give the Bulgarian side possibility to use in bailment the assets of the Taraclia-based State University, being in charge of bearing the expenses for public utilities and their servicing. Under the agreement, both those 150 students of the Grigore Tambalac State University and the academic staff will continue their activity at the new branch. At the same time, there will be possibility of studying with financing from the state budget at the new education institution, according to the plan on admission approved by Moldova’s authorities.
