Chisinau, 14 November /MOLDPRES/ - The price of the fire wood in the current heating season varies from the 2023 cold season, with a higher price for the very hard wood.
Thus, this autumn, the costs of the wood for the heating season vary between 370 lei and 1,250 lei for one stere, depending on the type of wood and the origin zone. The very hard wood is sold between 750 and 1,250 lei for one stere, while the wood of low hardness is sold between 370 and 750 lei, according to statements by the director of the Moldsilva Forestry Agency, Victor Durbala, made at a programme.
For comparison, in 2023, the selling price of the hard wood varied between 550 lei and 875 lei per one stere. For the soft wood, the prices were between 350 and 475 lei for one stere. The forestry enterprises sold wood only to households and public institutions, especially education ones. Economic agents were not able to buy fire wood from Moldsilva for commercialization.
Victor Durbala urged citizens to directly address forestry enterprises, in order to purchase wood, noting that there were enough stocks to cover the needs of heating for the entire cold season.
„The stocks of wood available are of more than 91,000 steres and another 100,000 steres are estimated till the end of this year. These quantities are enough to cover the population’s necessities of heating during the next winter. We urge citizens to address forestry enterprise to buy wood,’’ Durbala also said.
