New infrastructure minister holds new meeting in office on roads' preparation for next winter

Chisinau, 19 November /MOLDPRES/ - Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Vladimir Bolea today discussed with the director of the State Administration of Roads (ASD), Sergiu Bejan, and with the heads of those 12 enterprises Drumuri (Roads) stock company from Moldova the measures for preparing for the maintenance and administration of the national public roads in the 2024-2025 winter season. Thus, in terms of preparations, about 500 special vehicles and road equipment will be mobilized for clearing snow, combatting the glazed frost and spreading anti-skid material.

A stock of 21,984.66 tons of technical salt, 13,425 tons of anti-skid material and 19,240 tons of detritus was prepared for combating the glazed frost. The stock will be supplied during time, in order to provide the quantities necessary during the entire cold season. Seventeen video cameras are set on national public roads for the monitoring of the conditions of traffic during winter, according to the Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry (MIDR).

Also, posts of towing will be organized on the dangerous road segments, if necessary, in order to support high-tonnage transport units, in such points as: M1 border with Romania-Leușeni-Chișinău-Dubăsari-border with Ukraine, km 36 ( Cristești village); R6 Chișinău-Orhei-Bălți, km 33-34 (Peresecina village); R1 Chișinău-Ungheni-border with Romania, km 79-80 (Cornești village); R3 Chișinău-Hâncești-Cimișlia-Basarabeasca, km 27 (Fundul Galbenei village); R8 Edinet-Otaci-border with Ukraine, km 53-55 (or. Otaci); R30 Anenii-Noi-Căușeni-Ștefan Vodă-border with Ukraine (bypassing of Troița Nouă village).

Starting from 15 November, the ASD Operative Service has been working 24 hours. The service provides citizens with assistance and updated information on the state of roads and conditions of movement.
