Moldovan citizens with Romanian citizenship can vote in Romanian presidential elections for third consecutive day

Chisinau, Nov 24 /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan citizens with Romanian citizenship can vote in the presidential elections in Romania throughout today. The 59 polling stations opened in the country started activity at 07.00 and will close at 21.00.
According to the data by the Permanent Electoral Authority of Romania, from the opening of the polls at 12.00 on Friday and until 09.00 this morning, 24,691 Romanian citizens have cast their ballots in the Republic of Moldova.
A total of 227,678 voters had cast their ballots in the diaspora by 9.00 a.m. on Sunday for the first round of the presidential elections.
Voting eligible Romanian citizens in the diaspora can vote in the presidential elections in the 950 polling stations organized abroad or by post.
Voting abroad in the first round of the presidential elections will take place over three days: from Friday until Sunday, November 24, between 7:00 and 21:00.
In Romania, voting takes place throughout today. More than 18 million voters are expected to go to the polls on Sunday in the almost 19,000 polling stations that opened at 7am across the country to put their stamp on one of the 14 candidates in the presidential race.
By 9.00 a.m., 4.26% of the voters registered on the electoral rolls had voted in Sunday's first round of the presidential election, the Central Electoral Bureau announced.
Romanians have a choice of 14 candidates in the first round of the presidential election, with the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes to contest the runoff for the highest office in the country.
