Chisinau, 6 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Energocom Company today informed that the needed quantity of electric energy for 7 January, when a 17-per cent poorer    consumption is forecast, would be fully covered.

According to Energocom, for the old-style Christmas day, the overall consumption of electric energy on the right bank of Dniester will be by 17 per cent smaller against the day before. Respectively, less imported electricity will be necessary.

Energocom made the needed reserves of capacity at the border with Romania, in order to buy electric energy contracted or the one on exchange.

Respectively, for 7 January, the consumption of electric energy will be covered by the heating stations from Chisinau and Balti, local renewable energy installations and imported energy.

Starting from 1 January 2025, the right bank of Dniester has not been receiving electric energy from the Kuchurgan power station, after the Russian giant Gazprom ceased the deliveries of natural gas to Moldova. In these conditions, the consumption is covered with domestic sources, such as the heating stations from Chisinau and Balti, Costesti-based hydro-electric power station, renewable sources; import under bilateral contracts from Romania and purchasing on the electric energy exchange from Romania, managed by the OPCOM stock company.
