Chisinau, 10 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Energocom Company has purchased an overall quantity of electric energy of about 137,000 MWh, at an average weighted price of 110.83 euros/MWh, in the first ten days of this year.

According to Energocom, most of the energy – 31.86 per cent - was purchased based on bilateral contracts concluded with enterprises from Romania. The CETs from Moldova produced 30.33 per cent of the energy. Another 25.65 per cent was procured from the OPCOM platform of Romania. The share of the renewable energy was of 12.16 per cent.

The Energocom stock company informed that, on the first days of 2025, to fulfill the public service obligation, it had made procurements of electric energy based on the following regulations: as central provider of electric energy; in line with the instruction of the Commission for Emergency Situations; based on bilateral contracts on exchange.

Thus, as central provider of electric energy, nominated by the government, the company purchases energy produced at urban heating stations and the renewable energy power stations which have eligible status at the tariff established by the National Energy Regulatory Agency.

At the same time, according to the Instruction No 1 of the Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE) from 27 December 2024, Energocom buys based on bilateral contracts renewable energy from free market, ‘’at the capped price which will not exceed the lowest price for electric energy of the provider with public service obligation, based on bilateral contracts with the energy producers.’’

Energocom also buys electric energy based on bilateral contracts and by accessing the OPCOM trading platform from Romania.

Starting from 1 January 2025, the right bank of Dniester has no longer been receiving electric energy from the Kuchurgan power station, after the Russian giant Gazprom ceased the deliveries of natural gas to Moldova. In these conditions, the consumption is covered from domestic sources and from import.
